The Sparkle Gang

Written by Mancunian playwright and poet Martin Thomasson, The Sparkle Gang is a proposed series of young adult fiction which I have had the pleasure of supplying illustrations for.

I chose to illustrate this story in black biro. The medium allows for fine tonal gradation as well as bold strokes and graphic mark making. This visual subtlety plays to the beautifully explored themes of race and identity which the main characters face.
